December 23, 2008

These are trying times for everyone. Our country is facing the worst economic crisis in more than fifty years, and every day seems to bring more bad news.

In response to these extraordinary challenges, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2009 JCCs of North America Professional Conference. It is no secret that almost every JCC is feeling exceptional pressure. We at JCC Association are feeling it as well, especially with the unprecedented developments of the last week. We believe that foregoing the conference this year will be best for everyone, and will ease the strain on all of us. We are looking at ways to enhance learning and professional development opportunities for JCC staff through distance learning and regional workshops, and we will send information as soon as it becomes available.

Refunds will be processed after the first of the year for those who have already registered for the conference. Please check with Rosen Shingle Creek if you have already booked your hotel reservations. We are deeply indebted to our partners at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and Experient Conference Services, as well as the dozens of partners and friends who have put forth so much effort for this event.  Thank you for your understanding during these most challenging months.
